A Parish Council is the first tier of local government and consists of local people elected to represent the local community or civil parish.
A Parish Council recieves a small amount of funding called the precept which is collected through Council Tax payments. The Parish Council use the precept to enhance and improve the local community by, for example, maintaining the Village Garden and Village Rec or working with High Peak Borough Council and Derbyshire County Council to maintain footpaths and rights of way. Chisworth Parish Council generally meet on the last Wednesday of the month, except for August and December, when there are no meetings. To find out more about how local councils work click here.
Joining a Chisworth Parish Council Meeting
Parish Council meetings are open to residents who are welcome to attend any meeting. It would help if you could email the Chisworth Parish Clerk (or complete the form on our contact page) prior to the meeting, so we know to expect you.
